Our Story

Welcome to The Hotel Monroe. We trust you’ll find everything to your liking.
A Love Letter to Northeast Louisiana
During your stay at The Hotel Monroe, you’ll find charming details, down-home comforts, and a love letter to the culture, charm and heritage of Northeast Louisiana. We consider ourselves the living room of Monroe—a community establishment that makes each of our guests feel connected and cared for.
Our Property
Our hotel is situated in two historically preserved buildings that have stood proudly in our town since the late 1800s. We see these two buildings like two sides of the same coin—complementary, yet entirely distinct.
On the left is the Opera House, a glamorous spot which housed the Star Hotel in the 1920s. Here, you’ll find our Opera House ballroom, Lobby Bar, Heirloom restaurant, and Sugar Brothers Provisions. On the right is the building which previously housed the Sugar Brothers grocery and hardware store. Today, it’s our primary hotel space including guest rooms and the Star Bar on the rooftop.

Cheers to Local Art
For us, art is more than mere decoration—it’s a tribute to our local community. On our property, you’ll find a bespoke mural by [name here], inspired by the landscape of Northeast Louisiana. Learn more about our featured artists below.
